Energy Compacts are voluntary commitments by the Member States, and non-state actors such as companies and NGOs, to support SDG7.

As a Global Theme Champion for Energy Transition, India is undertaking extensive stakeholder outreach to inform, engage and encourage them to deliver impact at scale.

INDIA’S EC CONSULTATIONS

As a Global Theme Champion for Energy Transition, India is undertaking extensive stakeholder outreach to inform stakeholders about the activities of the High-Level Dialogue on Energy (HLDE). A number of conversations have been initiated with Union and state governments, the public and private sectors, Smart Cities, and civil society.

India is reaching out to the other Global Champions for Energy Transition and other major emerging economies and groups such as the SIDS and LDCs in South Asia and Africa, for collaboration and cohesive action to achieve 2030 commitments.

The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy and its Knowledge Partner, Council on Energy, Environment and Water have convened almost a hundred major corporates for e-consultations across industry sectors between April and July 2021.

These interactive sessions are creating awareness about the HLDE, providing a platform for companies to share their ambitions, innovations and roadmaps for sustainable energy transition and industrial decarbonisation, and helping generate momentum towards the achievement of India’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and 2030 SDGs.

The e-consultations have been supported by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), WWF-India, ASSOCHAM, the PHD Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PHDCCI), and the Global Cement and Concrete Association (GCCA).
